JSTOR does not provide access to current issues of journals; rather, because of JSTOR's archival mission, there is an embargo, typically from 1 to 5 years, between the most recently published journal issue and the back issues available in JSTOR.

Encyclopaedia Britannica combines all of the information found in the print version of this encyclopedia with added search features and online versions of Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary and Collegiate Thesaurus.

Research Hacks

Before searching for your topic brainstorm for synonyms, or alternative terms. For example, "the right to bear arms" is a Second Amendment right for all Americans. Today, the phrase "second amendment" is an accepted short-hand for "gun rights."
- happiness > contentment > satisfaction > well-being
- isolation > withdrawal > loneliness > detachment
- the effect of texting on socialization > texting AND socialization

Remember to put all phrases in "quotation marks" when you search, i.e., "consumer culture"
